Nurturing OFM Fans
Definition
Fan nurturing in OFM is the process of "growing" the relationship with a fan over time to gradually increase engagement and spending. Unlike direct selling, nurturing relies on time: you build trust, create attachment, and purchases happen naturally. It's the relationship-first approach that sets the best agencies apart.
Concrete example
A new fan subscribes. For the first 7 days, no selling attempt: only discovery and small talk to build a connection. On day 8-10, first free teaser. On day 10-14, first low-priced PPV ($5-$10). After day 14, gradual escalation. The fan has been nurtured and buys naturally.
Best practices
Never sell in the first 24-48 hours of a new subscriber (unless the fan asks). Invest in the relationship before looking for a return. Send non-sales messages regularly (check-in, question about their day). Use discovery insights to personalize every interaction.
Common mistakes
Being too impatient and selling in the first message. It's the most common and most costly mistake in OFM.
Did you know?
Desirely's approach is fundamentally "nurturing first": the AI first creates a real conversational relationship, makes the fan fall in love, then detects the right moment to sell. It's the opposite of competitors who spam fans with offers.
