Cross-selling OFM
Definition
OFM cross-selling is a technique that consists of offering complementary content or a service (not more expensive, but different) to a fan after a purchase. The difference from upsell: upsell offers a higher-tier version of the same content, while cross-selling offers content of a different type.
Concrete example
A fan buys a lingerie photo PPV. The chatter offers a cross-sell: "Want me to do a quick audio rating while you watch? đ" It is a different service, but complementary to what the fan just bought.
Best practices
Offer the cross-sell within 24 hours after the initial purchase. The cross-sell should be logically tied to the purchase (no off-topic offer). It is an ideal technique for diversifying revenue sources per fan.
Common mistakes
Confusing cross-selling with spam. Offering 5 different products all at once after every purchase wears the fan out.
